Hair Colour Q&A
Q: Should I wash my hair before my appointment?
A: Your hair will be washed during your appointment so it's not necessary to have it freshly cleaned. The only time it interferes is if there is a large buildup of oils/products it could make it difficult for the colour to cut through, and if you are having a bleach and tone or corrective colour service it could make your scalp more sensitive if it's been washed that day. Otherwise, it's best to wear it as you do the majority of the time to give us an idea of your normal style.
Q: How long is my appointment?
A: Appointment lengths vary a fair amount from service to service, which is why it's so important to have you booked in correctly! A colour retouch service is typically between 1.5-2 hours, full colour is 2-2.5 hrs and bleach and tones as well as any highlight services are typically 3-3.5 hrs long. Colour corrections service time (and price) will be determined upon consultation. Please make sure you have enough time for the full service.
Q: What is a colour correction?
A: A colour correction is when you want to change your existing colour by 3 or more levels darker, or lighten your entire colour. If you have previously coloured your hair and wish to be lighter all over without highlights, a corrective service is necessary. If you are wanting to have platinum blonde hair it will likely take multiple corrective services to reach your goal and will then be maintained by a bleach and tone service.
